Dignity Day, Jordan proved to me, once and for all, that young people are the same all over the world. They all want the same things — dignity, a voice, opportunity and the reasonable fulfillment of their dreams, respect for their views and opinions, peace, and 99% want to find a way to serve others even as they help themselves. One has to wonder, what would happen if world leaders actually took some of their counsel from the youth of the world? Something to think about…
Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan, who chairs the Forum of Young Global Leaders and who led Dignity Day, Jordan in May, 2007 with the co-founders.
And presenting the co-founders of Global Dignity, Professor Pekka Himanen of Finland (center), one of the world’s greatest philosophers and authors, HRH Crown Prince Haakon of Norway (right), and myself (left). Honored to be associated. All three co-founders are members of the Forum of Young Global Leaders, where all of this began (thanks Martina Gmur and David Aikman – smile).
Onward and with HOPE
