Mayor Dorn was and remains, other than the Hanna family, the single biggest reason why we will be launching a Banking on Our Future, Inglewood program office in 2008, in Inglewood, California.
I remember during the 15th anniversary HOPE Bankers Bus Tour in South Los Angeles, during the Inglewood stop, Mayor Dorn approached me and said "now John, you remember the commitment you made to me to educate every child in Inglewood in financial literacy." Now that is a mayor, and a leader, that means business. Inglewood is lucky to have a man such as Mayor, Judge Roosevelt Dorn.
As for Operation HOPE, "promises made, promises kept." The silver rights movement in action.
