Last week I was honored to join my hero and mentor, as well as the global spokesman for Operation HOPE, civil rights icon Ambassador Andrew Young, also chairman of Goodworks International, at the U.S. State Department for a special screening of Young’s breakthrough documentary "Rwanda Rising."
It was a fabulous afternoon, which began with a private meeting between Andrew Young, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, CB Hackworth, the award winning director of "Rwanda Rising," and myself.
Also present was Ambassador Ruth Davis, a class act, Rwandan Ambassador James Kimonyo, Ambassador Robin Renee Sanders, a long-time director for Operation HOPE and the newly confirmed U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria (bravo Ambassador Sanders!), and Jena Roscoe, our chief of government relations in D.C. who put the entire event together.
We were particularly honored to learn that Secretary Rice held our private meeting and the screening on her birthday! Very cool. Happy birthday Secretary Rice!
Onward with HOPE
