Clinton_library_002The opening night event, which was this evening, kicked off with remarks on the topic "The Green Revolution in Philanthropy," with speakers Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and New York Governor Eliot Spitzer. Rizeting.

I was particularly moved by Kennedy’s explaination of responsible capitalism, where he summarized (my words here) "…we need to reward good behavior and punish bad behavior. Real free market capitalism does just that, because it rewards efficiencies, while punishing waste. What is going on now often punishes good behavior, while rewarding wasteful behavior, and worse, some get rich by making others pay for their inefficiencies and waste – making them rich and others poor… Responsible capitalism should make you rich, and your neighbors rich too." On this point, I agree 100%.
