I am now a personal fan of Councilwoman Cheh of the District of Columbia. She has a distinguished career of public service, including a stint serving the poor as a pro-bono attorney in South Africa, where we now have an office. She now also heads a Council Committee in District government focused on financial literacy related issues, and recently held hearings that I and others testified for.
Councilwoman Cheh is far right in this picture, and as authentic and real as she appears relaxed in this photo in Anacostia. Councilwoman Cheh and I will do some powerful and empowerment things together over the months to come. She embodies the best of the "silver rights" movement.
