149_tayogastudio4flatj_2Harlem is blessed these days — by amongst others my sister (in-law) Terri Kay-Aba Kennedy, innovative and owner of Ta Yoga House in Harlem, New York; the first Yoga studio in serving the residents of Harlem, and black owned too.

Ta Yoga House has been highlighted by Oprah and her O Magazine and Black Enterprise Magazine, amongst many others.

The Location
The Ta Yoga House is a 1,400 square foot space in a newly renovated brownstone located between Lenox and 5th Avenues in the heart of Central Harlem at the following address:

71 West 128th Street
Third Floor, Suite B
Harlem, New York 10027-3102
212-289-6363 (phone)
212-289-6466 (fax)

147_teresakennedy_bizj_4x6whrsm_2Terri and her business are also part of the Clinton Foundation’s innovative small business initiative.

When next you go to New York City, schedule a class at Ta Yoga House. You will not regret it. Terri is as talented, amazing and gifted, in the fine art of yoga and healing and health, as she is beautiful, inside and out (as are all the Kennedy ladies). A Harvard graduate, Terri is now a small business owner and giving back to her community as the same time.

The Environment
A perfect environment for healing and de-stressing, the studio is very warm and intimate with hardwood floors, tall windows, large plants, exposed brick, flickering candles, mirrors, and the soft sounds of international music. Class size is limited to 12 people. Yoga mats, pillows, blankets and other props are provided. You can change in the restroom or back sitting room.  After class, you are welcome to a wide selection of teas from around the world. The office is available for holistic health consultations. We also have a library of health & spirituality books, videos, and audiotapes for your browsing pleasure

Onward, with HOPE
