$100,000 investment and board participation will support
Banking on
Our Future, youth financial literacy program

LOS ANGELES, CA—March 22, 2007—Operation HOPE, a financial literacy non-profit dedicated to silver rights, today announced that TransUnion, a global leader in credit and information management, will become a national partner.  TransUnion is investing $100,000 to support Banking on Our Future, HOPE’s youth financial literacy and empowerment program, and recruiting employees to become HOPE Corps volunteers in cities where both have offices. TransUnion Chief Operating Officer, David Emery, has joined the HOPE’s national board to bolster program support.

"We applaud TransUnion’s commitment to silver rights – Operation HOPE’s mission to eradicate poverty. TransUnion’s commitment to support the award-winning Banking on Our Future and HOPE Corps will help us to positively impact the lives of thousands of youth in this country.  We believe that through silver rights we are getting closer to the dream of forging a more equitable society, globally," said John Hope Bryant, Operation HOPE founder, chairman and chief executive officer.

TransUnion actively supports community organizations around the world that are aligned with their commitment to help business, consumers and communities achieve their goals. Operation HOPE’s Banking on Our Future complements those goals; delivering financial literacy and empowerment tools to students ages 9 – 18 living in under-resourced communities.  TransUnion associates who enlist as HOPE Corps members will assist in delivering the four-part curriculum instructing students on the basics of banking and the fundamentals of money management and investments. In addition to the written curriculum, volunteers act as role models, inspiring youth to make comprehensive changes in behavior through dignity and self-reliance.

“TransUnion is dedicated to providing quality financial education programs to help students learn how to build their financial lives," says Emery. "We believe that through the Banking on Our Future program we are providing a strong financial education to students today that will help build a strong, global economy tomorrow.”

Banking on Our Future works in partnership with local departments of education, local school districts, banking regulatory agencies and over 200 additional public and private partners. The program has received Oprah’s Use Your Life Award and the U.S. Treasury Department’s John Sherman Award for Financial Literacy Excellence. In the last 10 years, Banking on Our Future has educated more than 210,000 students at almost 500 schools and community-based organizations nationwide.
