We know the answer to that question. People are ending up in the water because hopelessness drives them there. It may be the hopelessness of drugs or alcohol or joblessness or health or crime or on on hundred other things. Christians need to follow Jesus’ commands and flock to soup kitchens, battered women’s shelters, prison cells, and hospitals. We need to seek Jesus in the distress and disguise of the poor. "
