Los Angeles, CA—December 18, 2006—Operation HOPE (“HOPE”) today announced that Timothy R. Chrisman has been appointed the Vice Chairman of HOPE, effective January 1, 2007.  Chrisman’s term will follow that of Rick Hartnack, who has served as the only Vice Chairman since the inception of HOPE. Mr. Hartnack is the Vice Chairman of the Consumer Banking Group of US Bancorp and will continue to serve as a director on HOPE’s National Board.

Chrisman who has been a director of HOPE since 1995 has been deeply committed to serving HOPE’s mission to eradicate poverty in our lifetime through HOPE’s Silver Rights Movement.  His enormous contributions led to being named vice chairman.  Mr. Chrisman also served as Director of Commercial Capital Bank and Commercial Capital Bancorp of Irvine, California until March 2005, the $5 billion, publicly traded institution that acquired Hawthorne Savings where he was Chairman of the Board from 1995 to 2004. Additionally, he is the elected Chairman of the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) of San Francisco and Chairman of the Council of Federal Home Loan Banks, the system’s 12-bank trade organization.

He has served on various HOPE committees and as a member of the Chairman of the Executive Management and Compensation Committees.

Chrisman is an outstanding business leader who is also the Chairman of Chrisman & Company, a Los Angeles based retained executive search firm, established in 1980 to service companies in financial and related industries. His reputation for excellence is well-known and he has appeared multiple times on prestigious awards lists.
