Oslo_002_1My friends thought I had really "lost it" when I told her I was bringing my bike to Oslo, Norway for the "Oslo Meetings" around Global Dignity and HOPE Global Initiatives, but I am so glad I did it. Because we effectively met from morning to midnight, I did not get a great deal of riding time in, but the riding I did do – through central Oslo – was fabulous.

I never could have seen or experienced the city in an automobile the way I did on the bike; meeting and interacting with people, taking in the architecture, smelling the city and its rich culture. Simply beautiful.

Oslo_006The weather was about 45 degrees Fahrenheit, but some cold weather clothing and good gloves solved this problem (thanks Donnie from Go Cycling Maui for the best cold weather gloves ever. Just in time – smile). I would recommend cycling in Norway to anyone.

Onward, with HOPE
