Today my sweetie and I joined President Bush and approximately 200 African-American leaders from around the country at the White House for the Black Music Month celebration.
Performing were jazz trumpeter Irvin Mayfield, Patti Austin, B.B. King, "the King of Blues," and special guests included Kareem Abdul Jabar, HUD Secretary Alphonso Jackson, Gulf Coast Federal Coordinator Don Powell, and of course my shero Dr. Dorothy Height. Very nice. Very nice. Onward, with HOPE, John Hope Bryant
