Welcome to the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government’s Second Annual Black Policy Conference.

This conference is the leading policy-driven forum at Harvard University addressing the issues affecting communities within the African Diaspora. This year our theme, “Bridging the Gap,” centers around the socioeconomic disparity faced by people of African descent. Hurricane Katrina opened the world’s eyes to that disparity as it relates to African Americans. Such disparity also extends globally, to people of African descent in the Caribbean, Latin American and throughout Africa.

The conference will be a convergence of the world’s finest minds, leaders and practitioners to brainstorm sustainable policy solutions to issues that especially affect people of African descent. The overwhelming success of the inaugural conference last year bears testimony to the need to continue this conversation.

Please join us from April 21-23, 2006! blackpolicyconference@ksg.harvard.edu
