Operation_hope_logo_new_13 By now we have all, unfortunately, heard and seen the wreckage and physical and emotional damage – and loss of life – caused by Hurricane Katrina. The level, size and scope of what has hit Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana, is simply incomprehensible. Overwhelming is another word that fits. And while we must continue to pray for those literally still working their way through the eye of this storm’s aftermath, and while we all know there is more than enough blame to go around, those of us committed to action must take some.

And so Operation HOPE, through our HOPE Coalition America effort, a national partner with FEMA and Citizen Corps on emergency economic preparedness, response and recovery, will be mobilizing a major response effort benefiting the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Our plans will be made publicly available sometime over the next week to 10 days, but in the meantime you can get updates on what we have planned at www.operationhope.org. Some of our partners here will include of course FEMA, Citizen Corps, the FDIC, the Office of Thrift Supervision, E Trade Financial and in a major to be announced effort, First American Corporation, amongst others. Stay tuned….

Let me know what is on your hearts and minds about this horrible tragedy, and more so, what you would like to actually see done!

P.S. God bless Kevin Nash, on-air personality at KJLH Radio Station in Los Angeles (station owned by friend Stevie Wonder), for his planned efforts to literally truck food and other resources to victims in and around the impacted states. Good going Kevin!

Onward, with HOPE
