Today in Jordan, while attending the World Economic Forum meeting at the Dead Sea as a Young Global Leader, I ran into one of my all time heroes, and someone I have always wanted to meet…. Professor Muhammad Yunus, founder and managing director of the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh. What an incredible human being, literally doing God’s work. The power and magic of the World Economic Forum you ask? Well, let’s start here — the man was just sitting in the member’s lounge, reading a newspaper when I literally almost ran into him! And right next to him was I am sure Prince so and so (every other person it seems is Prince so and so, by the way)….

Professor Yunus was aware of our work (thank you Ambassador Andrew Young), and thinks that the Silver Rights Movement that Andrew Young and I have called for is exactly the right thing, at the right time. Ownership, personal responsibility, personal empowerment and accountability — all powerful ideas that he fully agrees with.

The Grameen Bank he tells me is doing better than ever. Get this…

…$500 billion lent annually;

…99% repayment rate;

…$100 average loan size;

…96% of all borrowers are women.

God bless you Professor Yunus. Keep doing God’s work. It is making a real difference in the world we live. And thanks for the personal advise around Operation HOPE too! I was listening….

Onward, with HOPE
